Hello and welcome!
Thank you for stopping by! I’m Noura.
I’m a wife and mama to two small children (plus 1 on the way).
My husband and I live with our kids in Spain. We love the Lord Jesus and are on a journey to rediscover the world that He made and how He made us to interact with it.
Our dream is to one day build a homestead where we can grow our own food.
I have a question for you:
Have you ever wondered why when you go to a dentist with a cavity he or she will fill it, maybe mention a word or two about taking better care of your teeth but never mention why you got that cavity in the first place or even what you could do to stop it?
For me, this was the question that began my journey towards better health and wellness.
It all began with a glass of raw milk.
There was a time when supermarket “ice-cream” and monthly chocolate cravings were my normal.
But those days are behind me because learning about real food has changed my life…and my family’s lives.
I’ll never forget the day I tried raw milk for the first time. It was a light bulb moment for me. I had discovered something so good that I grew up thinking would make me sick.
I had discovered real food.
From then on we left behind refined white sugar and learnt about natural sweeteners and properly prepared grains and legumes. I was introduced to Sourdough bread and making whey and cream cheese from clabbered milk.
With every lesson I have learnt so far about real food I have come to love food more and its preparation. I’ve also learnt how to make real food on a budget and when I don’t have a lot of time to cook.
Real Food is alive
Real food should not be sitting on a shelf preserved by unpronounceable ingredients and additives.
Real food is from the Lord.
Real food has a way of healing and regenerating the human body.
“The doctor of the future will no longer treat the human frame with drugs, but rather will cure and prevent disease with nutrition.” – Thomas Edison (1908)
Mothers have a tough job and we work really hard.
But we also have great power in our position.
We are also uniquely blessed.
“Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, the fruit of the womb is a reward.” -Psalm 127:3
We are the ones who directly influence and affect the health, choices and future of our children and grandchildren. Not only that but our health determines how healthy our kids and even our grand kids will be.
Motherhood has changed my life and for the better. It has been and continues to be a process of discovery and I’d like to share it with you.
I’ve learnt about real food which has empowered me with the knowledge that I as a mother can directly impact the health of my children and grandchildren.
This is both humbling and inspiring.
It has become my goal to feed my children real, nourishing, made-from-scratch food daily (just the way our grandparents and great grandparents used to).
And so can you.
This little home of mine, in the making, is where I’ll be sharing healthy family recipes based on Traditional diet principles, ways to keep a natural non-toxic home (and why you should) and all things related to raising healthy kids in our Modern World.
Thanks again for stopping by and I hope you’ll read along!
